The Heart of Dogland

§ 01

Synopsis

"This is the land of the great big dogs. You don't love a man here, you eat him." Arthur Miller's All My Sons weaves between Candide, The Giving Tree, poems from Walt Whitman and Percy Bysshe Shelley, and original songs and movement to examine the nature of compassion, and how we can be kind people in an unkind world.

The performance was a mosaic of found and original text and movement material, all reflecting generosity, curiosity, and compassion. The audience sat in scattered chairs, set far apart, to evoke a solitary journey within an otherwise communal act.
